Ok for those of you spraying with KTM-9 have you found a really good cleaner for your guns?? I've been using alcohol and it works but my gun needs a DEEP cleaning and DA is just not cutting it. Any suggestions?? -Paul- |

I always used hot soap and water after each days shooting, DA in between. |

I use hot soap and water after the days shooting as well. It seem to keep the inside of the gun fairly clean. Don't let the KTM sit in you gun any longer than needed. That is when it becomes really difficlut to clean. I know this from experience. Josh |

Ok so let's say you had to move and you THOUGHT your gun was cleaner than it first appeared but when you unpacked it.... There has to be somehting to dissolve that finish, I basically need to %100 flush the gun of all finish and re-assemble, I do clean it quite often when spraying but I got caught off guard this time... Cheers -Paul- |

Hypethetically speaking of course, if someone were to be silly enough to leave paint in a gun, it would be very difficult to get it out of all the nooks and crannies. That person, still hypethetically speaking, might phone an automotive paint supply place. They often have ultrasonic cleaning equiptment that will "shake" everything out. Some of the bigger art supply places might have them as well. |

A little off topic, but what type of gun are you using to spray the KTM9 with? Thanks |

Go to your local NAPA auto parts store and buy a GALLON of carburettor parts cleaner (in a METAL can), not the aresol stuff. Strip the gun down and put it in the cleaner for two days, with the lid on the can. Clean the gun parts in kerosene or lacquer thinner and reassemble it. Flush with lacquer thinner and you are back in business. It WILL clean any old paint and gunk out of your gun. |

Hypothetically???... IT WAS ME!!!! ![]() After HB I'm taking some time out of building to clean the shop, work on getting organized and going over all my tools... This rushing stuff is for the birds... I have been cleaning it but it seems to need a good deep cleaning, I like Tims idea and will give that a whirl... Thanks -Paul- |
